Read this book in one sitting. I will not say I loved it, because it chronicles the struggle my dear friend had trying to understand this illness, as well as letting go and letting God. The support of her husband, Earl, and the rest of her family, is truly a wonderful love story. Knowing how this precious lady enjoyed every aspect of her life, makes me wonder how she ever came to grips with this illness. And, the answer is, “With God, all things are possible.” God bless all of you as you continue to struggle with this horrible, misunderstood disease. You all passed this test with flying colors. Thanks, Linda, for allowing us to see into your very real struggle. God bless you, and Love you always.

I finished this fabulous book today and I can’t begin to describe the emotional release I am feeling from my own traumatic experience. I had so many unanswered questions about my Faith and myself that were put into the proper perspective after reading this great find. Anyone who has ever gone through the struggles of dealing with their own ability to turn it over to God or is in the field of helping someone who is unsure, this book is a must read. I now have a better understanding of who I am and who I want to be thanks to Linda Harriss and her experience she was Courageously shared with the world. Took a lot of guts. I would definitely give this book a double thumbs up.

What a journey! Certainly not one I would sign up for but the wisdom and knowledge that comes from it benefits all who read this book “But GOD, Where are You?”
Making a conscious effort to rid our lives and homes of the harmful products that we have grown so used to is very difficult. More importantly is to read of the faithfulness of God and the constant presence of Jesus during such a dreadful time.
Thank you, Linda, for transparency and letting us have a glimpse of your journey.

I just completed this powerful and compelling book that teaches all to place God first and trust completely the journey He has destined for us. I didn’t’ expect the tremendous conflict between medical support and God. What a revelation when the visions became evident even though I suspect they were there all the time – trust , faith and total acceptance of the Holy Spirit were shaded by our conditioned belief that medical remedies are the answer. Many of us are weak and broken, dependent on medical and pharmaceutical remedies for healing. God, however has a plan for everyone and in Linda’s situation, the demand to give up everything and put total trust in God healed her. This is a must read book. You will never forget the struggle and anguish that happened between Satan and his devious tricks. You will be in awe of the way God gave Linda the strength to give up everything and put her complete trust in God. This is a powerful book for all who are willing to make God the cornerstone and centerpiece of their life. Linda, thank you for writing this and for the gifts I received by reading it

Just finished reading–But God, Where are you?
Linda thanks for sharing your story with us. I know it will have a kingdom impact for so many. Being raised under the same mind-set that you were of being self-sufficient it certainly is making me re-evaluate my life and the way I will live it out–physically, spiritually, and emotionally. Thank you, Cousin – I love you. Happy Mother’s Day!

Isolated from family and friends, enduring physical and spiritual harassment each day, Linda clung to her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. He became her only hope, and He did not disappoint or forsake her. In ‘But God, Where are You?’ she shares how her battle with Environmental Illness destroyed her health and almost ended her life. Her story testifies to Jesus’ power to nourish our souls even when our bodies are failing and succumbing to the stresses of this world. Linda’s book is a powerful reminder that miracles still happen and love conquers all.

What a testimony! Having cancer or a heart attack, are easily seen, treated, and prayerfully recovered from. Oh, how much harder it is to have a disease that no one sees. (environmental illness, neuropathy, fribromyalgia, or a psychological illness). Unfortunately, if people do not see stitches, wounds or scars, they just can not understand how one can truly be ill. BUT GOD, WHERE ARE YOU is a testimonial of a wonderful lady and her journey through such a Hellish disease and the triumph of faith that saw her through such a devastating disease.

This amazing book is a must read for everyone and anyone who has health issues or who wants to maintain their health. As I read this book I became aware that we are all threatened by the toxic chemicals that are so prevalent in our world. And that we all must be informed and educated regarding the use of these toxic chemicals. This book has given me insight into illnesses and diseases that are perhaps the result of exposure to toxic chemicals. I am grateful for the resources in this book that give me options for healthy products in order to avoid the harmful chemicals that I once used in my home. I am sad for the countless numbers of people who are struggling with Environmental Illness or other health issues related to chemicals, but do not have a clue as to what is causing their health to deteriorate. I pray that BUT GOD, WHERE ARE YOU? will reach people who are searching for answers. This book will certainly help them begin the journey of healing and or prevent further deterioration of their health. And for individuals who ask the question, BUT GOD, WHERE ARE YOU? this book will without a doubt give the answers readers are looking for as they turn the pages and see the endless ways that God revealed himself and worked supernaturally performing miracles, sign, and wonders in Linda’s life and the lives of those who loved and supported her. I would rate this book beyond 5 stars if possible. It is a MUST READ! Thank you Linda for being so transparent allowing me and others to connect with you story in one way or the other. And to know that I’m not the only Christian who has ever doubted or asked, BUT GOD, WHERE ARE?. So blessed to have read this book!

I cried! I cried because of the hell this precious, sweet woman went through. We attended the same church during this time, but we were not as good of friends as we are now. But it wasn’t until we became such good friends these past few years that I knew what happened all those years ago…or so I thought. Then I read But God! I cried and cried! I wish I would have known her then and loved her then as much as I do now. I would have been there for her. Gone to see her… even if just to sit with her. Because, you see, in a very small way, I know how Linda felt because I too have gone through major health issues with Epstein Barr. I so connected with her story because during this time of my illness, I also felt so isolated and alone. Linda is the only person who has understood what I went through all those years ago. Like Linda….all of Job’s friends (Chapter 5) showed up to scorn me and to make me feel I wasn’t good enough for even God! After reading Linda’s book, I now fully understand…it’s all about GOD’S GRACE, AND I AM GOOD ENOUGH!!! I highly recommend this book!

    *EVERYONE SHOULD READ THIS BOOK!*
As I began reading the book, “But God, Where Are You?” it was very clear that many of the symptoms and health signs that the author shared I quickly recognized as toxic, red flags that were directly plaguing my families health. Along with the author’s personal story, she shares helpful solutions that one can do to improve our homes and the environment we live and work in. While I felt the pain of her words that expressed the daily struggles that came with the Environmental Illness diagnosis, Harriss’s testimony of spiritual and physical restoration are an encouragement of hope to all that read it.
********THIS IS A MUST READ! *********

    AUTHENTIC, DARING AND INSPIRING!

Throughout my work as a wellness coach and the editor of LiveLiving’s Transformational Living, a health and wellness online magazine, my readings have led me to a few works on toxins and their impact on our bodies. But never have I been led to explore and experience vicariously the ordeal of an individual who becomes allergic to everything. Yes, I did say “everything”. It was not until I came across Linda Harriss’s memoir But God, Where Are You? Finding Hope in The Difficult Journey Through Environmental Illness that my eyes were opened.

In all humbleness, I began to realize how little I knew about toxins or environmental illness. I read eagerly, because I appreciated the opportunity to be a fly on the wall, so to speak. But I also read anxiously, because I wanted the memoir to end: I wanted Linda’s pain and suffering to cease.

Harris details her physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual journey through this precarious illness that brought also social challenges to her life.

I must say, this is truly a courageous odyssey. We need these types of accounts, because environmental
illness—or any sickness for that matter—can be considered elusive, or simply personal. The knowledge and lessons Harriss learns are important to us all:

•We do need to learn about toxins and environmental illness.
•We do need to know how to approach such environmentally related diseases holistically.
•We do need to know how to confront beliefs that may prevent our healing, whether within or projected onto us.
•We do need to know how to use the Word of God to bring about transformation in order to deprogram incorrect beliefs.

Within this memoir Linda also inspires and uplifts us. Linda shows us how to fight when faced with adversity. She confronts her doubts and fears. She reasons with the scriptures of her Christian faith. And she deals with the friends who seem to have forsaken her. This story certainly has a Job-feel that thankfully ends well also.

It is not often we have an opportunity to experience a transformational story on all three levels—body, mind, and spirit. But God, Where Are You? is authentic, daring and inspiring!

I attend the same church and Sunday School class that Linda does. I heard about her book in SS class.
I thought to myself “a book for women.” Was I wrong. I saw my wife,Sharon, reading Linda’s book and she could not put it down.
When she finished it I picked it up and read a few pages. I was hooked. I read it in a day. My first impression was this is not a book for just women, it is for everyone.
Reading about how Linda and her family dealt with her environmental illness was so inspiring. Family is so important, but, the most important part was how she turned it all over to God. A perfect example for for us all.
I would be remiss if I didn’t mention how impressed I was that her husband, Earl, was her spiritual partner through the ordeal.
Would recommend this book to everyone.

This book is off the charts wonderful. Tremendous work of God and testimony of grace in midst of tremendous odds. Linda, when you counseled me years ago, I had no idea you had been through such torment and trauma. Thank God for mighty God-filled counselors like yourself, who really understand deep hurt and are able and willing to minister to people who need Godly wisdom for very real problems. I was so blessed by reading about your dear mother’s passing into glory. Appreciate the helps of do’s and don’ts re limiting environment toxins. May God bless your ministry tremendously.
